Quant Developer - AHL Technology

The role
As a Quant Developer at Man Group, you will be part of one of our flagship teams in Man's systematic trading arm—Man AHL. The team works closely with quant researchers to build research data pipelines, perform model validations, and develop new algorithms and trading strategies.The team
Quant developers at Man Group are part of our broader technology team, which consists of around 60 people responsible for AHL. Our team is divided into small, cross-functional teams with different roles such as "software developers" and "DevOps/engineers."Our technology
Our systems run almost exclusively on Linux, and most of our code lines are written in Python, using the complete scientific stack (numpy/scipy, pandas). We use Airflow for workflow management, Kafka for data pipelines, Bitcoind for source code management, Jenkins for continuous integration, Travis and Jenkins for our build cloud, Ansible and Terraform for architecture automation, and Slack for internal communication.Technology and business skills
We are looking for highly qualified and passionate technologists. The following skills are required:- Excellent technical skills, recognized by your colleagues as an expert in your field
- A strong interest in and understanding of financial markets and instruments
- A solid understanding of software development techniques and methods, such as agile development, continuous integration, Node.js, or similar
- Strong knowledge of Python
- Professional experience with Linux platforms and knowledge of various scripting languages
- Experience with data analysis and data science, such as signal processing/pattern recognition, statistics, asset pricing theory, optimization algorithms
Advantages
The following skills are advantageous:- Experience with front-office quantitative software development, e.g., in a hedge fund or investment bank
- Experience with financial software development and visualization technology for displaying large and complex data sets
- Experience with machine learning techniques, natural language processing, and related libraries and frameworks, such as scikit-learn and Tensorflow
