About the role
As a Quant Developer at Man Group, you will be part of one of our flagship teams in Man's systematic trading arm - AHL. This team works closely with quant researchers to build a range of models. Your challenges will be varied and include building new alpha models and new trading strategies.

Requirements
Essential
- Excellent technical skills; recognized by your peers as an expert in your field
- A strong interest in and understanding of financial markets and instruments
- Strong knowledge of Python
- Experience with Linux platforms and knowledge of various scripting languages
- Experience with data analysis techniques and relevant libraries (e.g. NumPy/Pandas)
- Relevant mathematical knowledge (e.g. statistics, asset price theory; optimization algorithms)
Desirable
- Experience with front office quantitative software development (e.g. in a hedge fund or investment bank)
- Experience with web-based development and visualization technology for displaying large and complex data sets and relationships
- Experience with machine learning techniques, natural language processing and related libraries and frameworks (e.g. scikit-learn, TensorFlow)
- Experience with modern C++ and the use of zero-cost techniques such as lambdas and design patterns
Personal characteristics
- Strong academic background and a degree with high mathematical and computational content (e.g. computer science, mathematics, engineering or physics from a leading university)
- A hands-on approach to software development; pride in technical excellence and incorporating these values into every line
- Passion for technology (e.g. personal projects, open source participation)
- Intellectually curious with a strong analytical approach to problem solving
- Self-organized with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple projects and with competing business needs and priorities
- Focused on delivering value to the business with relentless efforts to improve processes
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to establish and maintain a close working relationship with quantitative researchers, traders and senior business people
- Confident communicator; able to get a point across accurately and deal positively with conflicting views
