Quant Researcher
The position as a Quant Researcher at Master Z in New York City combines the development of quantitative trading strategies with extensive responsibilities in investor relations, marketing, and risk management.
Tasks
- Sourcing, screening, and evaluating potential investors—including both institutional investors (pension funds, investment funds, family offices) and high-net-worth individuals—in line with Master Z’s fund strategy and target audience.
- Understanding investor mandates, liquidity preferences, risk tolerance, return expectations, and investment restrictions in order to tailor pitch materials and presentation strategies.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers, such as members of the investment committee, chief investment officers (CIOs), and wealth managers.
- Developing targeted marketing materials (such as pitch books, fact sheets, and update reports) in collaboration with the marketing team.
- Support for marketing activities related to the management of marketing plans.
- Development of marketing campaigns targeting corporate clients.
- Competitive analysis and the development of strategies to gain additional market share.
- Analyzing market demand and preparing reports to support strategy development at the executive level.
- Planning, coordinating, and conducting market research studies.
- Establishing and managing relationships with supplier accounts and distributors.
- Preparing reports and presentations for senior management, directors, or investors that can influence the company's direction.
- Maintaining accurate and valid records in all business activities.
- Develop and manage the marketing department by planning, monitoring, and improving the department's marketing activities to build strong relationships with the general public and industry stakeholders.
- Evaluating and refining sales and marketing strategies to achieve established goals and objectives.
- Strengthening and maintaining brand awareness in financial markets, market research, and competitive analysis.
- Attend business conferences and community events to represent the company.
- Ensuring a high level of attention in all customer interactions (internal and external).
- Training junior associates and aspiring professionals to maintain high standards and serve as consultants.
- Maintaining a risk management policy and procedure and providing clear, step-by-step instructions.
- Establishment of a uniform audit policy and procedure for auditors.
- Ensuring data quality and completeness across all functions.
- Providing general oversight of all audits, including annual operational audits.
- Providing general oversight of internal audits and risk management.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with audit policies, standards, and professional ethics.
- Underwriting, monitoring, and leading a small team of associates.
- Developing the underwriting framework and investor expectations for Master Z’s fund strategy, with a focus on structuring the portfolios of selected borrowers in the portfolio of small and medium-sized real estate investments.
Requirements
- Senior/Interim Researcher with a background in applied/nonprofit investments in NFIS infrastructure (lending), construction loans, and related services, ranging from long-term to short-term.
