Quant Researcher - Multi-Strategy
Man Group is seeking a Multi-Strat Quant Researcher in London to focus on the implementation, risk assessment, and performance analysis of multi-strategy portfolios. The role requires strong quantitative skills, programming knowledge (e.g., C++, Java), and experience working with global datasets.
Tasks
- Implementation of Specific Portfolios
- Ongoing risk assessment of the portfolio structure and allocation
- Development of Methods for Portfolio Performance
- Due Diligence in Portfolio and Risk Management
- Contribution to the volume of quantitative research through interaction and collaboration with other research teams
- Focus on day-to-day operations, including rebalancing and index tracking, portfolio attribution, trade settlement, and reporting to investors and the management team
Requirements
Essential
- Theses by students who were among the top performers in their cohort in both their bachelor's and master's programs (preferred)
- An understanding of and passion for statistics
- A solid understanding of mathematics, finance, and linear (and nonlinear) investment techniques
- Expertise in high-performance programming languages such as C++, Java, etc.
- Safe Use of Portfolios or Similar Systems
- Five years of experience processing global datasets
- Understanding of systematic analysis and portfolio risk modeling
- Experience in portfolio management is a plus
Desirable
- A strong quantitative background and academic achievements, along with a keen interest in mathematics, statistics, and computing—e.g., mathematics, computer science, engineering, economics, or physics (a focus on MSc and/or Python programming is a plus)
- Passionate, thorough, and eager to gain more knowledge about technical data issues
- An interest in technology, coupled with a strong desire to improve problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, with the ability to research and manage tasks independently and to work effectively under pressure
- Interest in business interests and priorities
- A strong customer focus, with a consistent commitment to proactively building relationships with key business partners
