Quantitative Developer - AHIIL
The Quantitative Developer at AHIIL in London is responsible for developing and optimizing trading strategies, as well as implementing production code in C++ and Python in the field of algorithmic trading technology.
Tasks
- Development and delivery of new strategies and products.
- Analyzing and developing new strategies, as well as monitoring and optimizing existing strategies.
- Design, development, and delivery of critical products that help our customers achieve their goals.
- Collaborating with colleagues in the quant, data science, and engineering teams across multiple teams.
- Work on all areas of the trading technology stack, including: microstructure data collection and optimization, execution and order management, portfolio and risk management, and research and development.
- Research and development, as well as the implementation of models and products from the ground up.
Requirements
- Excellent mathematical skills, with a solid grasp of calculus at the expert or specialist level (e.g., computational finance, engineering, or mathematics), although any rigorous background can serve as a useful foundation.
- Commitment to and understanding of financial markets and economic theory.
- Ability to produce high-quality production code under supervision, as well as a commitment to the development, improvement, and maintenance of software used in retail.
- Superior knowledge of C++.
- Proficiency in the development and use of testing, version control, and QA procedures, as appropriate.
- Proficiency in quantitative projects, including the rigorous specification of models.
- Passion and a keen eye for detail, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in front-office software development for the retail sector, such as bridging the gap between research and development, typically involving the development of applications in C++, Python, or Delphi.
- Improvement and a thorough understanding of quantitative analysis and related methodologies.
- Proven ability to navigate a large and complex organization quickly and effectively.
- Examples of problem-solving challenges, numerical engineering processes, and related financial fields, particularly in options (risk), structured products, or hedge funds.
- Strong academic achievements, such as a degree with first-class honors and postgraduate-level studies in computer science, business engineering, etc., including mathematics and statistics (we highly value numerical and analytical skills, as well as a desire to improve these skills).
- Interpersonal skills with excellent interpersonal communication.
- Excellent analytical and technology-oriented approach; open-minded and motivated.
- Excellent academic performance and CIPR grades on passed exams. We require at least a 2:1 degree (preferably a 1st).
- Self-motivated and able to manage and motivate oneself while working on multiple projects at the same time.
- Someone who is passionate and talented, with an interest in the world of finance, technology, and life in general—someone who is interesting.
- An eye for aesthetics and the human touch. We want to build systems that truly inspire users.
- Highly committed to others; open-minded and curious. A more experienced engineering candidate must have a strong quantitative and financial background, ideally with at least 5 years of experience in financial modeling and 5+ years of systems experience.
- Confident communication skills to engage a large, interdisciplinary team while delivering outstanding work.
