Quantitative Developer - Systematic
Man Group is seeking a Quantitative Developer in Shanghai to work with portfolio managers to develop and execute systematic trading strategies. The role requires at least two years of professional experience in software development, as well as a strong knowledge of Python, C++, and scientific libraries.
The Role
- We're hiring a new software engineer (Development) in Shanghai to work closely with portfolio managers to develop and implement new systematic trading strategies.
- Office Shanghai has a highly dedicated team structured to achieve significant market success.
- Our Shanghai office is home to some of our most active product and portfolio managers.
- We are looking to grow and expand our focus on FX strategy development in this office to support our business-to-business strategy development, including through our BCS.
- We will provide the full range of strategic development services, effectively and efficiently.
- Training in areas such as front-end development, software development for quantitative applications, designing user experiences from scratch, and developing the business environment for the client.

Our Technology
- Our systems are built on Linux using a variety of our core Python tools, along with a full scientific stack: NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, SciQLab, and tools such as R for data analysis.
- The base code is written in Python internally.
- For storage, we rely heavily on MongoDB and SQL.
- We use Kafka/Dolphin and some of the leading messaging platforms.
- Kubernetes is our main focus.
- Jenkins for continuous integration, Splunk and HBaseDB for retention duration.
- Docker for containerization.
- Windows for performance automation.
- Tools such as those used on internal infrastructure.
- Our technology is becoming more stable, and we are constantly evaluating new tools and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- At least 2 years of professional experience in software engineering, preferably with a focus on quantitative applications
- Proficiency in Python and experience with scientific libraries, including NumPy, SciPy, SciQLab, and similar libraries
- Proficiency in both C++ and Python, and an understanding of object-oriented and functional principles for development and deployment
- Comfortable working in team environments and using Git
- Working knowledge of any of the more common database technologies, such as MS SQL, Python, or MongoDB
