Quantitative Researcher - Algorithmic Research
Man Group is seeking a Quantitative Researcher for its Algo Research department in London to conduct research and development of trading strategies for financial markets. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD or an exceptional master’s degree in a quantitative field and have experience in developing trading strategies.

The position of Quantitative Researcher - Algo Research involves conducting research and developing strategies to improve trading in financial markets.Tasks
* Assist in the development of short-term trading strategies in collaboration with Operations and Trading * Provide expertise in systems and implementation in collaboration with other technically skilled team members * Monitor markets and their impact on the trading model (performance reviews), propose appropriate model diagnostics, and provide feedback on observations to the research team * Research, develop, and implement research strategies in the area of short-term trading * Contributing to AHL’s overall research efforts by coordinating with other teams * Following up on inquiries from individuals/teams to determine how AHL can benefit * Applying quantitative techniques and market structure to large, often new or unconventional datasets and developing expertise along the way * Contributing to the firm’s overall research efforts through interaction and collaboration with other research teamsRequirements
* PhD or exceptional master’s degree in a quantitative field * Knowledge of and understanding of the structure and drivers of returns in financial markets * Demonstrable interest in algorithmic trading, financial derivatives, and markets in general * Ability to develop a range of trading strategies, with a deep understanding of at least one AHL trading strategy, and an understanding of the underlying structures and behaviors of the market * Ability to implement trading strategies using Python, as well as knowledge of other programming languages such as C++, Java, or similar, and familiarity with Unix/Linux * Knowledge of available statistical and mathematical tools and techniques, and the ability to independently determine what is appropriate in specific circumstances * Ability to write precise, persuasive, and informative technical reports and proposals * 2+ years of experience in research and development of equity strategies * Exceptional quantitative and programming skills * 3+ internships have led to full-time offers; ability to discuss ideas with the rest of the team and contribute to the ongoing research programWe offer
