Quantitative Researcher
Man Group is seeking a Quantitative Researcher specializing in cash equities who is capable of developing high-quality predictive models for the stock market and collaborating with other researchers. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical background, experience with machine learning, and proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
Tasks
As a Quantitative Researcher, your responsibilities include: - Generating high-quality intraday alpha signals for cash equities using order book and alternative data - Developing ML techniques for alpha research - Maintaining a strong market research mindset - Identifying optimal execution optimization problems - Identifying highly profitable opportunities - Working closely with researchers across the companyRequirements
Essential Requirements: - Ability to think creatively, develop original research and ideas, and implement them - Exceptional analytical skills; recognized by colleagues as an expert in the field - Deep understanding of statistical analysis and data to identify and solve global problems - Expertise in a high-level programming language such as Python or R Advantages: - Knowledge of market structure, participants, trading venues, and microstructure of at least one of the major asset classes - Experience in intraday alpha research - Experience with data-driven strategies - Experience handling large datasets and backtesting dataPersonal characteristics
- PhD or exceptional master’s or bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field - Integrity combined with a sharp analytical approach to problem-solving - Ability to deliver products with high development value - Hands-on attitude, willing to engage with technology and projects across the entire company - Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and navigate competing business requirements and priorities - Strong interpersonal skills; Adaptability and the ability to build close working relationships with quantitative researchers, technology teams, traders, and other business units - Confident communicator; able to articulate a point concisely and handle conflicting viewpointsWe offer
