Quantitative Researcher

Man Group is seeking a Quantitative Researcher to develop and implement new alpha signals and optimize trading strategies for systematic funds. The ideal candidate will have a degree in quantitative analysis or a PhD, at least one year of experience, and programming skills in Python, C++, or Java.

Purpose of the Role

  • Generating, maintaining, and implementing new alpha signals; taking on additional risk-adjusted trades; and expanding the firm's reach by developing new opportunities.
  • Implementing the analysis of new market developments and quantitative data from sources such as Tradewin to reduce trading costs.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, as demonstrated by a degree in mathematical statistics, economics, computer science, or a quantitatively oriented scientific field, such as physics, engineering, economics, quantitative economics, etc.
  • OR post A minimum of 1 year of experience (ideally a PhD) conducting research in a related field, mathematical finance, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in the programming languages Python, C++, or Java.
  • Demonstrated a deep understanding of and sound application of programming concepts. Strong programming skills in at least one language, including the ability to write clean, precise, and efficient code. The ability to review and debug code written by others.
  • An analytical mindset that fosters creativity, lateral thinking, and effective problem-solving. The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, working both independently and as part of a larger interdisciplinary team, is essential.

  • The base salary range that the Company expects to pay for the position will be based on the number of years of experience in the occupation and pay differences among various occupations, locations, and experience levels.
  • U.S. Salary Range: $75,000 - $108,000
  • Our compensation and benefits package includes a competitive salary and deferred compensation.
