Job description

Tasks

• Generation of high-quality intraday predictive alpha signals in cash equities from order book and alternative data
• Development of ML techniques for alpha research
• Development of a significant market research model that provides impact analyses across a range of key asset classes
• Solving optimization problems for optimal execution
• Identification of highest P&L opportunities
• Close collaboration with researchers throughout the company

Requirements

Essential

• Ability to think creatively, develop original research ideas, and implement them
• Excellent analytical skills; recognized by colleagues as an expert in his field
• Deep understanding of markets, data, and information to gain insights and solve highly complex problems
• Expertise in a high-level language such as Python/R

Advantages

• Knowledge of market structure, participants, trading venues, and microstructure of at least one of the major asset classes
• Experience in intraday alpha research
• Experience in handling large amounts of data and tools to gain insights
• Experience in writing/working with automated systems

Personal characteristics

• PhD or exceptional master's/bachelor's degree in a quantitative subject
• Intellectual integrity with an analytical approach to problem solving
• Ability to work collaboratively with high-performing teams across the organization
• Hands-on attitude, ready to engage with technology and projects across the organization
• Independence with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and handle competing business demands and priorities
• Strong interpersonal skills; adaptability and ability to build close working relationships with quantitative researchers, traders, technologists, data scientists, and business managers
• Confident communication; able to express a point concisely and deal positively with conflicting views

• Anticipated salary range: $100,000 - $140,000 USD
