Quantitative Researcher – PM Monetization

Man Group is seeking a Quantitative Researcher for its PM Monetization department in London to conduct research and development of trading strategies for financial markets. The ideal candidate will have a PhD or exceptional master's degree in a quantitative subject and at least 2 years' experience in research and development of trading strategies.

The position of Quantitative Researcher – PM Monetization involves conducting research and developing strategies that improve trading in financial markets.

Tasks

- Assisting in the smooth execution of AHL's short-term trading strategies in collaboration with Operations and Trading - Monitoring markets and their impact on the trading model, proposing model diagnostics, and providing feedback from observations to research - Research, development, and implementation of research and strategies in the area of short-term trading - Contribute to AHL's overall research effort by interacting and collaborating with other teams - Monitor markets/sectors/themes for internal and external purposes and suggest how AHL can benefit from them - Apply quantitative techniques and market knowledge to large, often new or unconventional data sets and develop expertise - Contribute to the company's overall research effort by interacting and collaborating with other research teams

Requirements

- PhD or exceptional master's degree in a quantitative subject - Knowledge/understanding of the structure and drivers of returns in financial markets - Demonstrable interest in algorithmic trading, financial derivatives, and markets in general - Ability to create a variety of trading strategies, with deep knowledge of at least one AHL trading strategy, understanding of underlying market structures and behaviors - Ability to implement trading strategies using Python, knowledge of Linux/Unix - Knowledge of statistical and mathematical tools and techniques and ability to independently decide what to use in specific circumstances - Ability to write clear, concise, and informative technical reports and proposals - 2+ years of professional experience in equity strategy research and development - Exceptional quantitative skills and programming skills - Good A-level grade, ability to discuss views with the rest of the team and contribute to the further research agenda
