Quantitative Researcher - PM Monetization
The Quantitative Researcher (m/f/d) in Portfolio Monetization at Man Group in London is responsible for conducting research on alpha generation, signal and factor development and portfolio construction. The role requires strong analytical ability, expertise in statistical and machine learning techniques and experience in portfolio construction.
Job description: Quantitative Researcher - PM Monetization
Tasks
- Improvement of existing portfolios
- Development of groundbreaking research ideas and alpha constructs as well as allocations
- Development of portfolio construction methods
- Close cooperation with traders and portfolio managers
- Contribute to AHL's research efforts through interaction and collaboration with other research teams
Requirements
Technology and business skills
- Excellent analytical skills; recognized by colleagues as an expert in your field
- Strong background in statistical/machine learning and portfolio construction techniques
- Expertise in a high-level language such as Python
- Familiarity with Netty/Splunk/Pandas or similar tools
- Excel skills and handling large amounts of data
- Understanding of risk management techniques and portfolio risk modeling
- Portfolio management experience is an advantage
Personal characteristics
- Strong academic background and degree with high mathematical, statistical and computational content, e.g. mathematics, computer science, engineering, economics or physics from a leading university
- Highly motivated with a passion for technology and technology-driven projects
- Methodologically robust with a strong analytical approach
- Self-organized with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple projects and with competing priorities
- Tenaz and determined
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to establish and maintain close working relationships with quantitative developers/managers and other business units
- A "can-do" attitude; focused on solving business problems
- Confident communicator; able to express a point concisely and deal positively with conflicting views
