We are looking for a Quantitative Risk Analyst who will be responsible for the validation of valuation and regulatory models, the evaluation of model concepts and implementations and the development of our model risk framework. The employee will be part of a dynamic team in our Lisbon office.

About the role
Model risk is the risk of financial loss due to inappropriate model assumptions or inadequate model usage. In Leonteq's business, significant model risk can arise when models are used to value financial securities and calculate hedge ratios or when models are used to meet regulatory requirements. In this broad role, you will cover a wide range of activities and knowledge areas as you will be involved in aspects of model validation in close collaboration with other members of Risk Oversight and departments outside Risk Oversight, such as Quantitative Analytics, Trading and Structuring.Tasks
- Validation of assessment models and regulatory models, including testing and documentation efforts
- Evaluation of conceptual aspects of the models and their implementation, data sources and best market practices
- Review and approval of prize libraries
- Contributions to Leonteq's model risk framework
- Contribute to automation and efficiency by identifying opportunities to improve reporting systems and analytics tools and working closely with IT departments
- Maintenance of controlled and documented processes
- Review of trading scripts for specific transactions and approval of such transactions
- Independent price and model parameter verification
Requirements
- Degree with a strong quantitative background (physics, mathematics, computer science, financial mathematics, etc.)
- Understanding of derivatives and financial markets
- Preferably knowledge of quantitative finance and stochastic calculus
- Willingness to analyze problems and work with considerable accuracy
- Ability to learn new concepts and tools
- Results-oriented team player with strong interpersonal skills (communication, collaboration, customer focus)
Nice to Have
- Relevant experience in a banking or insurance environment
- Familiarity with programming (Python, VBA, SQL)
