Regulatory Tax Specialist

The Regulatory Tax Specialist supports the provision of regulatory reporting and operational tax services to clients and internal stakeholders. The position includes the monitoring of Qualified Intermediary (QI) and 871(m) reporting, AEOI & FATCA & CARF reporting and Withholding & Transaction Tax Management.

Job description: Regulatory Tax Specialist

Tasks

  • Qualified Intermediary (QI) & 871(m) Reporting: oversee the planning, support and coordination of annual Qualified Intermediary (QI) and Qualified Securities Dealer (QDD) 871(m) reporting and compliance, including delivering WHT to the IRS and performing data reconciliations. Serve as the point of contact for inquiries from all of the Bank's business units in connection with these and related operational U.S. tax issues.
  • AEOI & FATCA & CARF Reporting: Support with annual reporting for AEOI/CRS/CARF and FATCA, ensuring accurate and timely compliance.
  • Withholding & Transaction Tax Management: Opportunity to take on or support additional topics related to withholding tax and/or financial transaction tax = CoCo
  • Regulatory Reporting: Supporting our teams in the collection and support of regulatory signals in connection with regulatory reporting, in particular in the areas of EMIR, MiFID II and FinTraG.
  • Department Representation & Process Optimization: As a competent and reliable representative of the department in bank-wide projects and process improvement initiatives related to regulatory tax topics.
  • Process & Service Development: Promoting continuous improvement of existing processes and services, working closely with IT colleagues within the team to continuously improve and ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • A degree in Banking & Finance or similar with several years of relevant professional experience.
  • At least two years of experience in one of the above mentioned tax topics is required.
  • A proactive and independent approach to work, with strong organizational skills.
  • Commitment to high quality, accurate work, a reliable work ethic and a "can do" mentality.
  • A collaborative team player with effective communication skills.
  • Fluent in German and English.
