Relationship Manager, Asia Institutional

Vontobel is seeking a Relationship Manager for the Asia-Pacific region to support the sales strategy for institutional clients in Asia and maintain existing client relationships. The ideal candidate will have experience in institutional client relationship management and a good knowledge of the Asia-Pacific markets.

Job description: Relationship Manager, Asia Institutional

Tasks

  • Implementation and support of Vontobel's sales strategy in the Asia region (excluding Korea and Japan) with a secondary focus on Australia/New Zealand.
  • Maintain and develop existing customer relationships, working with regional account managers to ensure a first-class customer experience.
  • Positioning and selling Vontobel's equity, bond and multi-asset products to institutional clients and potential clients in the region.
  • Coordination of events and sponsorship activities to strengthen Vontobel's brand in the region.
  • Collaborate with the broader Asia-Pacific team to drive the regional business plan and develop strategic opportunities in the region.
  • Providing constructive feedback on strategies, market and industry trends, and best practices to management, sales, and investment teams.
  • Internal collaboration across the organization to address customer needs with the company's product, marketing and investment resources.
  • Building positive relationships across the broader global sales organization, investment communications, operations, legal, compliance, and other internal teams critical to the entire customer lifecycle.
  • Ensuring that all compliance and legal requirements are met and that the business is conducted in accordance with best practice.

Requirements

  • Relationship Manager with a proven track record in institutional client relationship management and acquisition, with at least 5-7 years of experience in selling asset management products to institutional clients in Asia-Pacific.
  • Good knowledge of the institutional markets in Asia Pacific, including sovereign wealth funds, central banks, pension funds, corporates and insurance companies.
  • Strong network in Greater China an advantage.
  • Independent, entrepreneurial, customer focused mindset with strong drive and ambition to establish and grow the company's business in the region.
  • Strong technical knowledge of investment products across public and private market classes.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin (oral and written).
