Relationship Manager, Asia Institutional

The Relationship Manager (Asia Institutional) at Vontobel is responsible for the distribution of investment strategies to institutional clients in the Asia-Pacific region, maintaining and developing business relationships with current and potential clients. The focus is on Asia (excluding Japan and Korea) and Australia/New Zealand.

Job description: Relationship Manager, Asia Institutional

Tasks

  • Implementation and support of Vontobel's sales strategy in the Asia region (ex Korea, ex Japan) with a secondary focus on Australia/New Zealand.
  • Maintain and develop existing customer relationships, working with regional account managers to ensure a first-class customer experience.
  • Positioning and selling Vontobel's equity, fixed income and multi-asset products to institutional clients and potential clients in the region.
  • Coordination of events and sponsorship opportunities to strengthen Vontobel's brand in the region.
  • Work with the Asia Pacific team to drive the regional business plan and develop strategic opportunities in the region.
  • Provide constructive feedback on strategies, market and industry trends and best practices to management, sales and investment teams.
  • Internal collaboration with product, marketing and investment resources to meet customer needs.
  • Build positive relationships with global sales organizations, investment communications, operations, legal, compliance and other internal teams.
  • Ensuring that all compliance and legal requirements are met and that the business is managed according to best practice.

Requirements

  • Relationship Manager with a proven track record in institutional client relationship management and acquisition with at least 5-7 years' experience in selling asset management products to institutional clients in Asia Pacific.
  • Good knowledge of the institutional markets in Asia Pacific, including sovereign wealth funds, central banks, pension funds, corporates and insurance companies.
  • Strong network in Greater China an advantage.
  • Independent, entrepreneurial, customer focused mindset with strong drive and ambition to establish and grow the company's business in the region.
  • Strong technical knowledge of investment products across public and private market asset classes.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin (oral and written).
