Relationship Manager, Asia Institutional

Vontobel is looking for a Relationship Manager for the Asian region to support the sales strategy for institutional clients in Asia and maintain existing client relationships. The ideal candidate will have institutional client relationship experience and good knowledge of the Asian markets.

Job description: Relationship Manager, Asia Institutional

Tasks

  • Implementation and support of Vontobel's sales strategy in the Asia region (ex Korea, ex Japan) with a secondary focus on Australia/New Zealand.
  • Maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships, working with regional customersサービス professionals to ensure first-class customer experiences.
  • Positioning and selling Vontobel's equity, fixed income and multi-asset products to institutional clients and potential clients in the region.
  • Coordination of events and sponsorship opportunities to strengthen Vontobel's brand in the region.
  • Work with the wider Asia Pacific team to drive the regional business plan and develop strategic opportunities in the region.
  • Provide constructive feedback on strategies, market/industry trends and best practices to management, sales and investment management teams.
  • Internal collaboration across the organization to address customer needs with the company's product, marketing and investment resources.
  • Build positive relationships across the broader global sales organization, investment communications, operations, legal, compliance and other internal teams that are critical to the entire client lifecycle.
  • Ensuring that all compliance and legal requirements are met and that the business is run in accordance with best practice, taking appropriate action where necessary.

Requirements

  • Relationship Manager with a proven track record in institutional client relationship management and acquisition with at least 5-7 years' experience in selling asset management products to institutional clients in Asia Pacific.
  • Good knowledge of institutional markets in Asia Pacific, including sovereign wealth funds, central banks, pension funds, corporates and insurance companies. Strong network in Greater China is an advantage.
  • Independent, entrepreneurial, customer focused mindset with strong drive and ambition to establish and grow the company's business in the region.
  • Strong technical knowledge of investment products across public and private market classes.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin (oral and written). Other language skills are an advantage.
