Relationship Manager, Asia Institutional

The Relationship Manager (Asia Institutional) at Vontobel is responsible for the distribution of investment strategies to institutional clients in the Asia Pacific region, supporting the firm's business strategy. The position requires experience in institutional client relationship management and asset management in Asia Pacific.

Job description

Tasks

  • Implementation and support of Vontobel's sales strategy in the Asia region (excluding Korea and Japan) with a secondary focus on Australia/New Zealand.
  • Maintain and develop existing customer relationships, working with regional account managers to ensure a first-class customer experience.
  • Positioning and selling Vontobel's equity, bond and multi-asset products to institutional clients and potential clients in the region.
  • Coordination of events and sponsorship opportunities to strengthen Vontobel's brand in the region.
  • Work with the wider Asia Pacific team to drive the regional business plan and develop strategic opportunities in the region.
  • Provide constructive feedback on strategies, market and industry trends and best practices to management, sales and investment teams.
  • Internal collaboration across the organization to work with product, marketing and investment resources to meet customer needs.
  • Build positive relationships across the global sales organization, investment communications, operations, legal, compliance and other internal teams that are critical to the client lifecycle.
  • Ensuring that all compliance and legal requirements are met and that the business is conducted in accordance with best practice.

Requirements

  • Relationship Manager with a proven track record in institutional client relationship management and acquisition with at least 5-7 years of experience in selling asset management products to institutional clients in Asia Pacific.
  • Good knowledge of the institutional markets in Asia Pacific, including sovereign wealth funds, central banks, pension funds, corporates and insurance companies.
  • Strong network in Greater China an advantage.
  • Independent, entrepreneurial, customer focused mindset with strong drive and ambition to establish and grow the company's business in the region.
  • Strong technical knowledge of investment products across public and private market classes.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin (oral and written).
