Relationship Manager, Japan

Vontobel is seeking a Relationship Manager for the Japanese market to support its multi-boutique growth strategy for institutional and private clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for building relationships with current and potential clients in Japan and for the distribution of Vontobel's investment strategies.

Job description: Relationship Manager, Japan

Tasks

  • Implementation and support of Vontobel's sales strategy and business plan in Japan
  • Supporting the Tokyo team in marketing Vontobel's equity, fixed income, multi-asset and infrastructure products to institutional clients and intermediaries
  • Maintain and develop existing client relationships, working with account managers to ensure a first-class customer experience
  • Identify and coordinate events and sponsorship opportunities to strengthen Vontobel's brand in Japan
  • Work with the Asia Pacific team to drive the regional business plan forward
  • Developing all opportunities in the region and supporting the implementation of best practices in the company
  • Providing constructive feedback on strategies, market and industry trends and best practices to management, sales and investment teams
  • Internal collaboration with product, marketing and investment resources to meet client needs
  • Build positive relationships with global sales organizations, investment communications, operations, legal, compliance and other internal teams

Requirements

  • Relationship Manager with a proven track record in client relationship management and 10-15 years of experience in asset management sales, especially with institutional clients (preferably experience in both channels: institutional and retail)
  • Strong Japanese communication skills for collaboration with key partners in Japan and high level of English for internal communication and coordination
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide customer service and sales support
  • Strong coverage of local distributors and development of an end customer network after acquiring a DIM license
  • Strong technical skills with experience in marketing public and private market classes in Japan
  • Good understanding of Japanese regulations for sales and marketing
  • Independent, entrepreneurial, customer-oriented mindset with strong drive
  • Strong communication and interpretation skills
  • Willingness to travel for work
  • High personal integrity
