Research Analyst
Main Street is seeking a Research Analyst for its Far East Fund in London to conduct fundamental analysis and identify investment opportunities in sectors such as finance, technology, and healthcare. The candidate should have 1–3 years of experience, a relevant college degree, and fluency in English.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality investment research across a wide range of sectors, including finance, technology, healthcare, and more;
- Conduct fundamental analysis, including reviewing financial statements, industry reports, and company presentations, and writing reports on individual companies;
- Assess global market trends as well as competitive dynamics within the economies of the Far East to identify investment opportunities;
- Meet with management teams and conduct site visits (as appropriate);
- Attend meetings, interact with analysts, and participate in investment committees;
- Work with external resources, including access to industry conferences;
- Stay informed about changes in the economic and political landscape of the Far East and assess how these changes may affect the Fund’s investment opportunities;
- Track and monitor portfolio holdings;
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in an academic discipline relevant to research and analysis (e.g., economics, finance, mathematics, physics...);
- 1–3 years of experience in industries relevant to fundamental research (finance, technology, healthcare, etc.);
- Basic understanding of financial models;
- Ability to think independently and solve problems;
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken;
- Proficient with office software.
Nice to Have
- A candidate with a current work authorization for the Far East is a strong asset;
- Knowledge of other East Asian languages is always helpful;
