Tasks
- Main task: Selection of managers for investment funds, may also include alternative investments
- Participation in portfolio construction discussions and daily monitoring and reporting of all relevant products
- Application of investment knowledge for manager selection through a rigorous due diligence process
- May in future be applicable to the three major product areas of traditional, hedge funds (alternatives) and private equity
Duties and responsibilities
- Main focus on achieving the due diligence objectives for the inclusion of investment funds
- Coverage of all regions and asset classes for traditional long-only investments
- Potential for extending coverage to alternative investments
- Contribution to the ongoing development of analytical and qualitative processes
- Maintenance of general knowledge of the markets, both macro (top-down market, economy, industry) and micro (fund/strategy specific)
- Ability to create materials for internal and commercial purposes, e.g. investment memos and analysis
- The presentation of new ideas, investment concepts and the search for new opportunities are expected
- Oral and written presentations
- Developing relationships with external partners and taking responsibility for these relationships
- Requires ongoing interactions to stay informed of the latest updates from managers and the industry
- Cooperation with other business areas, e.g. Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations, Commercial (Private Bank)
- Responsibility is assumed by the individual as continuous and ongoing
- Acts as a direct representative of the FOF team internally and externally with a high level of expertise and professionalism
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in economics, business administration or quantitative discipline preferred, but not required
- 3 to 5 years of experience in asset management, funds of funds or family office
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, especially MS Excel
- Programming in SQL and Python a plus
- Knowledge of statistical and factor analysis a plus
- Knowledge of Morningstar preferred
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
- Must be able to organize self, but can also work in a team/environment
- English language skills; knowledge of Portuguese and Spanish a plus
- Must be able to present in the office (no remote role)
