RI Implementation and Oversight Analyst

Purpose of the role

The RI Implementation and Oversight Analyst is part of the Responsible Investment (RI) front-office team and works closely with the Head of RI Policy and Oversight to manage and monitor Man Group’s RI reporting framework, improve RI processes, and ensure that new concepts are integrated into investment strategies.

Specific responsibilities

This role supports and assists the Head of RI Policy and Implementation in carrying out the following responsibilities:

• Product: RI expertise and oversight for the launch and transition of RI funds and strategies, including review of product design, integration of RI frameworks, and provision of thought leadership.
• Regulatory Reporting: Managing ongoing regulatory reporting obligations, including SFDR, SDR, and TCFD, and responding to client inquiries.
• Engage with the evolving RI/ESG regulatory landscape and determine how these concepts can be applied to Man Group’s diverse investment strategies.

Guidelines and Framework

This role assists in the development and implementation of Man Group’s RI framework and guidelines to ensure that they align with internal objectives and keep pace with regulatory developments (e.g., SFDR, SDR, and TCFD).

• Development and maintenance of key RI policies, including the Sustainable Investment Policy, Group Diversity Policy, and RI Policy.
• Ensuring that the investment teams are trained on the RI frameworks and guidelines within which they operate.

Control Environment

This role helps manage Man's RI control environment across multiple work streams:

• Management of the semi-annual process for assessing primary adverse impacts (PAI).
• Assist with the annual review of Pillar 2 stewardship, responsible investment, and the Monitoring Group to verify ongoing commitment to and compliance with established sustainability goals.
• Served as secretary of the Responsible Investment Subcommittee and the Stewardship Committee.
• Management of the investment stewardship process, through which portfolio managers can formally challenge sustainability ratings, leading to the underlying ESG research and the maintenance of appropriate audit trails.

Exclusions

Every six months, the role uses external data to extract Man’s issuer exclusions in order to systematically review potential additions or removals, supplemented by manual review of company reports, Bloomberg data, and client assessment tools.

• Provide mounting brackets and recommendations to the Exclusions Subcommittee for review and formal approval prior to implementation.

Stakeholder management

This role manages stakeholders and maintains strong lines of communication between the RI team and Man's investment engines, the Companies team, and the Data teams.
