RIA Regional Consultant - Northern California, VP II - State Street Investment Management

The RIA Regional Consultant (VP II) at State Street Investment Management is responsible for building relationships with financial advisors in the Northern California RIA channel to help them utilize SPDR ETPs and other solutions. The role includes servicing Registered Investment Advisory firms, identifying client needs and providing market insights and sales support.

Job description

We are seeking an RIA Regional Consultant for Northern California to join our Client Coverage team at State Street Investment Management. In this role, you will work with a team of external and internal stakeholders to build relationships with financial advisors in the RIA channel and provide valuable client solutions to help advisors grow their business with SPDR ETPs, Model Portfolios and other State Street IM solutions.

Tasks

  • You will personally take on key client and strategic partner relationships as a member of the US Wealth Intermediary team.
  • They will cover Registered Investment Advisory firms throughout Northern California.
  • You will identify the needs of our customers; provide various business practices and regularly provide significant market insights, product information, investment ideas and sales support.
  • You will attend State Street M & SPDR ETP portfolio management sessions to gain an in-depth understanding of positioning, trading and investment performance.
  • They will educate customers and prospects about the features and benefits of our product line and set us apart from our competitors.
  • You will build new and existing relationships, generate new referrals and new assets within the highest concentration areas of wealth in the channel.
  • You will be responsible for managing and coordinating travel across the territory with various sub-advisory partners and index providers.
  • They will leverage the centers of expertise within the firm to facilitate custody and fund administration with third party custodians within the ecosystem.
  • You will build and maintain relationships with key internal business partners, including the internal sales, marketing, research and client enablement teams.
  • You will work with the internal sales team to deliver SPDR ETP and State Street M resources to clients.
  • They will promote an understanding of State Street M and strategy and products.
  • You will supervise internal colleagues on the team.
  • They will drive risk excellence and adhere to the sales monitoring culture that demonstrates and promotes the highest ethical standards.
  • You will show initiative to continuously improve sales skills and pursue professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Series 7 and 63/66 licenses
  • Investment industry designations such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) desirable
  • At least 7 years of experience in the investment management industry, with at least 5 years in sales/business development, preferably with Registered Investment Advisors
  • Strong technical skills and investment knowledge
  • Strong product knowledge of ETFs, investment funds, individual accounts and related products
  • Self-motivated person who can work both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrates integrity, commitment to excellence and initiative to succeed
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and sales presentations
  • Ability to travel and show quality while applying curiosity
