Job description: Risk Analyst

Tasks

• Support in ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of risk data to inform external and internal stakeholders
• Conducting due diligence for new hedge fund investments in the area of investment risk
• Analyzing investment risks across different strategies and reporting on results to support investment decisions
• Maintaining and improving the quality of risk calculations in FRM systems to ensure the accuracy of information to be reported
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve data issues and monitor risks
• Monitoring market and credit risks by analyzing market data and news
• Performing ad hoc analyses and creating metrics to support the business
• Reporting on relevant risk data and metrics to stakeholders

Requirements

• Solid academic qualifications in a technical field (e.g. economics, mathematics, engineering, natural sciences)
• Knowledge of financial instruments and interest in large asset classes and portfolio risk management
• Knowledge of Python (or similar programming skills, as Man Group offers training in Python) and MS Office
• Ability to identify and investigate problems, with patience and collaboration with internal and external parties, and propose solutions
• Strong attention to detail and ability to balance competing demands
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely

Further requirements (optional)

• Experience in risk data modeling and understanding of the MSRC/Risk Metrics framework
• Knowledge and demonstrable experience with hedge fund strategies
• Knowledge of Python
