Risk Management - Credit Officer, Director - Executive Director

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Credit Officer Director (Executive Director) for Credit Risk Management in Namur, who will be responsible for credit limits and exposures for the Investment Bank and Market Access. The role involves monitoring credit risks, developing credit solutions, and working closely with bankers and clients in a distributed environment.

Job description

We are looking for a risk professional to join the Credit Officer Director’s office in Namur. You will serve as the Senior Credit Risk Owner for the Investment Bank (IB) and Market Access (MC) divisions and will be responsible for two portfolios.

As a Credit Officer and Director at JPMorgan Chase in the Market Access/Credit Risk team, you will establish, maintain, monitor, and control credit risk limits within IB and Market Access. Working in a distributed environment, you will manage delegated authorities and oversee a portfolio of credit risks in collaboration with Relationship Debt Officers, corporate coverage bankers, product coverage specialists, credit analysts, and model requirements.

Based in Geneva, Switzerland, you will provide on-site coverage for clients involved in financial and travel credit transactions, including binding credit extensions and pre-approvals. In addition to monitoring and managing predefined limits, you will develop key credit solutions, coordinate and monitor fees, and analyze end products—such as options—that can be priced. You will also be involved in the collateralization of the loan and, when necessary, provide input on transaction structuring.

Tasks

  • Maintain strong working relationships with corporate bankers, product risk managers, and senior management within the company.
  • Cross-selling within the company, including IB and MC.
  • Escalate problems or exceptions to executive management and senior management as needed.
  • On-site coverage for customers and/or transactions.
  • Presentation of the work during peer reviews—both on-site and off-site—as well as the preparation of documentation.
  • Analysis of the existing credit risk.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of products and processes and share it with others.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of developments among counterparties and across sectors.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in investment banking and credit risk management.
  • Strong analytical, presentation, organizational, and written and oral communication skills.
  • Develop a solid understanding of credit risk and how it affects customers.
  • Effective communication skills with teams, coworkers, and customers.
  • A solid understanding of corporate finance and financial instruments.
  • Knowledge of financial markets, including an understanding of financing techniques such as leverage, debt, equity, and securities structuring.
  • Experience with loan agreements.
  • The ability and manner of interacting effectively with people within the organization.
  • Strong skills in project management, analysis, deal structuring, and financial modeling.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.
  • Ability to serve multiple clients in the financial services sector simultaneously.
  • Interpersonal collaboration in managing customer relationships and strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to monitor on-site transactions while maintaining a global perspective on the deal team.
