Risk Quant Engineer
As a Risk Quant Engineer you will be part of the Risk Engineering team and develop solutions for day-to-day risk analysis and research to support investment teams and executives at Man Group. You will work closely with colleagues to implement new risk models and optimize existing ones.

About the role
As a Risk Quant Engineer in the Risk Engineering team, you will work with Investment Risk Managers and other engineers to develop innovative solutions for investment teams and executives within Man Group.
Tasks
- Working with a close team to develop and implement new risk models
- Optimization and maintenance of existing models
- Contribution to the implementation and rollout of new risk models
- Constant evaluation and review of opportunities to increase efficiency in terms of capacity and capability
- Leadership and strategic direction for the future architecture of the Man Risk Platform
Requirements
Essential
- Excellent technical skills, recognized by peers as an expert in your field
- Proven programming experience, ideally with Python
- Familiarity with Linux platforms and knowledge of various scripting languages
- Experience with DevOps/engineering tools and the software development lifecycle
- Excellent knowledge of one or more scientific technologies, e.g. Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Apache/Cor
- Excellent team and product management skills

Technology and working environment
We use a mix of Linux and Windows and Python as our primary language, with a focus on Python and the Python science stack: NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Pandas and related tools.
- Use of Airflow for workflow management, Kafka for data pipelines, Bloomberg for real-time news, continuous integration, Git, Kafka, PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB and Terraform for infrastructure automation
