Credit Back Office Clerk

The Welsh Cantonal Bank is seeking a Credit Back-Office Clerk (80–100%) to start on March 1, 2025. The ideal candidate will have commercial training and experience in the credit and compliance fields. The position involves processing and reviewing credit files, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal control systems.

Tasks

  • You will apply your analytical and supervisory skills in a targeted manner to ensure smooth coordination with the various departments and with client advisory services.
  • Your thorough and detailed documentation transforms your wealth of experience into measurable quality assurance.
  • Your responsibilities include processing, reviewing, and managing credit files in the commercial division, as part of the application process and in accordance with credit policies.
  • You will actively contribute to the proper management of client accounts (which include, among other things, securities, bonds, forward contracts, savings deposits, demand deposits, debit balances, and commissions).
  • They participate in the tasks of the internal control system (ICS) and help implement ICS measures to ensure the integrity and security of credit processes.
  • You will help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to credit management.
  • They maintain the database and documentation for credit transactions and ensure that all information is up-to-date and complete.
  • They establish cross-functional communication channels and interfaces with the various departments within the company.

Requirements

  • You have successfully completed an apprenticeship as a Swiss Business Associate or Business Specialist (EFZ) and have several years of professional experience.
  • In addition, you have some initial experience in the credit and compliance fields or are willing to learn about them.

  • You have completed a business apprenticeship (EFZ, Matura, or equivalent) and possess additional academic knowledge or experience in finance.

  • You not only have excellent French language skills, but are also proficient in written French. Proficiency in a second language would be a major plus.
  • You are proficient in using MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Your strong interpersonal and communication skills are a good fit for a position in which you play a key role in making the right decisions both within the team and in your department.
  • You have a disciplined and dedicated work ethic.
  • You enjoy working on projects with teams and have several years of experience in banking, which has given you a broad perspective on the financial world.
