Tasks

• Engineer, enhance and maintain the firm's core AI and machine learning platform
• Partner with stakeholders in research, commerce, technology and operations to design, build and deploy scalable AI solutions
• Manage the lifecycle of machine learning models, including training, fine-tuning, validation, deployment and monitoring
• Keep up to date with the latest developments in the field of applied AI to identify and propose novel solutions to drive the business forward
• Proactively work with teams across the organization to drive understanding and adoption of AI tools and capabilities

Requirements

Essential

• Demonstratable enthusiasm for AI engineering and machine learning
• Excellent software engineering skills with a strong knowledge of Python
• A strong interest in and understanding of financial markets and instruments
• Relevant mathematical knowledge, e.g. statistical methods, optimization algorithms, linear algebra

Advantages

• Experience with tools for building algorithmic trading, knowledge processing or automated coding tools
• Experience with the training or fine-tuning of pre-trained generative models
• Experience in building tools and technologies within systematic or discretionary investment units

• Strong academic background and a degree with high mathematical and computational content, e.g. computer science, mathematics, engineering/physics from a leading university
• A craftsman's approach to building software; takes pride in engineering excellence and communicates these values to others
• Demonstrated passion for technology, e.g. personal projects, open source participation
• Results-oriented person with a strong analytical approach to problem solving
• Self-organized with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple projects and with competing business needs and priorities
• Excellent interpersonal skills; can establish and maintain a close working relationship with traders, quantifiers and business people
• Confident communicator; can lead and deal positively with conflicting views
