About the role

We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to help us develop solutions that utilize the latest DevOps and Machine Learning technologies and techniques. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of technology and finance, developing high-impact, novel solutions that touch every part of our business, AI and finance.

Tasks

• Develop, enhance and maintain the company's core AI and machine learning platform
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers from technology and operations to design, develop and deploy solutions/ML models
• Manage the lifecycle of machine learning models, including training, fine-tuning, validation, deployment and monitoring in production environments
• Stay on the cutting edge of applied AI to identify and propose novel solutions that can drive our business forward
• Proactively engage with teams across the organization to drive understanding and adoption of AI tools and capabilities

Requirements

Required skills

• Demonstrable enthusiasm for AI engineering and machine learning
• Excellent software engineering skills with in-depth knowledge of Python
• A strong interest in and understanding of financial markets and instruments
• Relevant mathematical knowledge, e.g. statistics, optimization algorithms, linear algebra

Advantageous skills

• Experience with tools/ideas for building algorithmic, knowledge-based or automated coding tools
• Experience with training or fine-tuning pre-trained generative models
• Experience in building tools and technologies for systematic or discretionary investment units

Personal characteristics

• Strong academic background and a degree with high mathematical and computational content, e.g. computer science, mathematics, engineering/physics from a leading university
• A hands-on approach to software development; takes pride in technical excellence and communicates these values to others
• Demonstrable passion for technology, e.g. personal projects, open source involvement
• Independence, combined with a team-oriented/analytical approach to problem solving
• Self-organized with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple projects and with competing business needs and priorities
• Excellent interpersonal skills; able to establish and maintain a close working relationship with traders, quantitative researchers and business people in different locations
• Confident communicator; able to present complex ideas clearly and deal positively with conflicting views
