Job description: Senior AI Engineer
Tasks
- Development, improvement and maintenance of the company's core AI and machine learning platform
- Collaborate with research, commercial, technology and operational stakeholders to design, develop and deploy scalable data/AI and analytics infrastructure and services
- Manage the lifecycle of machine learning models, including training, fine-tuning, validation, deployment and monitoring in production environments
- Up-to-date information on the latest developments in the field of applied AI to identify and propose innovative solutions to drive the business forward
- Proactively collaborate with teams across the organization to drive understanding and adoption of AI tools and capabilities
Requirements
Required skills
- Demonstrable enthusiasm for AI engineering and machine learning
- Excellent software engineering skills with in-depth knowledge of Python
- Strong interest in and understanding of financial markets and instruments
- Relevant mathematical knowledge, e.g. statistics, optimization algorithms, linear algebra
Advantageous skills
- Experience with GenAl to build algorithmic knowledge processing or automated coding tools
- Experience with the training or fine-tuning of generative models
- Experience in building tools and technologies that have written systematic or discretionary investing units
Personal characteristics
- Strong academic background and a degree with high mathematical and computational content, e.g. computer science, mathematics, engineering or physics from a leading university
- Craftsman approach to software development; takes pride in technical excellence and communicates these values to others
- Demonstrable passion for technology, e.g. personal projects, open source involvement
- Analytical approach to problem solving
- Self-organized with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple projects and with competing business needs and priorities
- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to build close working relationships with traders, quantitative researchers and senior business people
- Confident communicator; able to argue a point concisely and deal positively with conflicting views
