Senior AI Engineer

Job description

Tasks

• Develop, improve and maintain the company's core artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning platform
• Work with research, commercial, technology and operations stakeholders to design, develop and deploy machine learning / AI models, including the creation and curation of data sets and the application and automation of insights
• Manage the lifecycle of machine learning models, including training, fine-tuning, validation, deployment and monitoring in production environments
• Stay up to date with applied AI to identify and propose novel solutions capable of driving business value
• Proactively engage with teams across the organization to drive understanding and adoption of AI tools and capabilities

Requirements

Essential requirements

• Demonstrable enthusiasm for AI engineering and machine learning
• Excellent software engineering skills with in-depth knowledge of Python
• Strong interest in and understanding of financial markets and instruments
• Relevant mathematical knowledge, e.g. statistics, optimization algorithms, linear algebra

Advantages

• Experience with GenAl to build algorithmic knowledge processing or automated coding tools
• Experience with the training or fine-tuning of generative models
• Experience in building tools and technologies that have written systematic or discretionary investing units

• Strong academic background and a degree with high mathematical and computational content, e.g. computer science, mathematics, engineering/physics from a leading university
• Craftsmanship approach to software development: takes pride in engineering excellence and communicates these values to others
• Demonstrable passion for technology, e.g. personal projects, open source involvement
• Individually driven with a clear analytical approach to problem solving
• Self-organized with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple projects and with competing business needs and priorities
• Excellent interpersonal skills: able to build a close working relationship with traders, quantitative researchers and senior business people
• Confident communication: able to defend a point of view convincingly and deal positively with conflicting views
