Senior Analyst, Accounting - 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Purpose of the role

The role is part of the London finance team's financial accounting function, which is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the accounting books and records and provides monthly reports to the Group Reporting Team.

Specific responsibilities

  • Perform monthly financial accounting activities for all entities within the respective area of responsibility to ensure that the general ledger is accurate and complete and that all analytical reviews and balance sheets are completed in a timely manner
  • Prepare group and local management information, as well as ad hoc reports and analyses
  • Prepare regulatory filings for regulated entities and collaborate with local regulatory advisors
  • Prepare local financial statements and tax returns for all relevant entities
  • Prepare financial statements and related analyses
  • Work with auditors and tax advisors to ensure the provision of information to support the preparation of local tax returns and other ad hoc requests
  • Implementation and ownership of controlled processes such as key assets and fixed assets, or tax transfer pricing
  • Ongoing collaboration with other teams within the Finance Department, including UK and Service Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Group Reporting, and Financial Business Partners, to support the timely, accurate, and efficient exchange of information with them
  • Proactive Improvement of Existing Processes
  • Support and Mentoring for Junior Employees
  • Supporting other finance teams and assisting with initiatives and projects

Key competencies

  • Accounting: ACA/ACCA/CIMA Certification
  • Experience: Strong knowledge of financial accounting, including technical accounting
  • IT Skills: Must be computer literate, with strong Excel skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Experience with financial management systems and processes
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, as well as presentation skills, along with the ability to interact confidently with multiple stakeholders
  • A proactive approach and the ability to learn quickly, with attention to detail
