Senior Analyst, Cyber Security Threat Management

As a Senior Analyst, Cyber Security Threat Management at Northern Trust in Limerick, you will be responsible for the initial triage of security incidents in the SIEM and the development of SOAR automation solutions. The role requires experience in incident response, a deep understanding of threat actors, and the ability to support the team through mentoring and proactive problem-solving.

Tasks

  • An excellent opportunity to further develop your cybersecurity expertise in an exciting cybersecurity role on a growing team, while strengthening Northern Trust's cybersecurity posture.
  • As part of Northern Trust’s Cyber Coordination Center, the Senior Analyst will be primarily responsible for the initial triage of potential security incidents on our SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) system.
  • The Senior Analyst will also play a crucial role in carrying out Northern Trust’s security monitoring and in helping to build a resilient and unified team that enhances NT’s ability to protect and defend its most recent information.
  • Conduct incident analysis on security alerts in the SIEM and respond using security runbooks/playbooks, while also drawing on your own initiative and skills.
  • Work with security teams to develop SOAR and automation solutions to improve efficiency and speed up response times to security incidents
  • Skills in the emerging field of AI, with a focus on triaging and mitigating threats
  • Design, review, and fine-tune alerts to increase efficiency.
  • Mentoring and coaching within the team regarding newly developed procedures and playbooks.
  • Escalate incidents as needed to prompt further immediate action

Requirements

  • Creative and imaginative problem solver: An adversarial mindset, an understanding of the goals, and the TTPs of threat actors.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in information technology or cybersecurity roles, including security operations and incident response.
  • Programming knowledge and aptitude.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and interest in cybersecurity as a potential career change.
