Senior Analyst / Manager, Financial and Regulatory Reporting - FTC

Purpose of the role

The role is based within Man Group’s Finance Department and reports to the Head of Financial and Regulatory Reporting. Responsibilities include: calculating, reviewing, and monitoring regulatory capital and liquidity requirements as well as regulatory feedback; reviewing and monitoring guarantees and commitments; and providing support on technical accounting issues/interpretations and new regulatory requirements. The role also provides support for financial accounting and group reporting analyses and deliverables, as required.

Specific tasks

• Preparation and/or review of monthly capital and liquidity calculations, forecasts, and regulatory feedback
• Communication with teams regarding ad hoc requirements, including regulatory reporting requirements
• Support for technical accounting assessments, including new lease agreements, regulatory capital calculations, and accounting changes, as needed
• Ensure that new lease agreements and lease amendments are implemented in Workday; review monthly balance sheet reconciliations as needed
• Assistance with the preparation of monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, interim reporting, and accounting processes, as needed
• Communicating with the financial control team to ensure the timely delivery of information
• Communicate with other teams to ensure that accurate financial analyses and metrics are reported and delivered in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner
• Support for other financial control and reporting initiatives and ad hoc projects, as needed

Technical skills

• CIMA/ACCA/CIMA certification or equivalent. Strong knowledge of financial accounting (including BSPS)
• Experience: Experience working in a financial accounting or audit reporting team within a large corporate environment
• Regulation: Knowledge of the FCA’s MiFID PR and/or other FCA-relevant regulatory frameworks, and experience with regulatory reporting, ideally in the financial services sector
• Communication: A team player with a positive and organized approach, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate complex topics
• IT Skills: Computer proficiency with strong knowledge of computer applications (e.g., Excel, Access, Power BI) and familiarity with regulatory reporting systems
• Requirements: Experience with general accounting systems would be an asset
• Risk: The ability to assess and monitor financial risks and controls, and to use this information to influence decisions and critically evaluate processes, as well as to anticipate and assess risks as necessary
