As a Senior Analyst in Middle Office Accounting, you will support price control, NAV calculations and trade position management and contribute to the development and improvement of processes and analysis. You will also mentor junior analysts and provide technical expertise.

Job description: Senior Analyst, Middle Office Accounting

Purpose of the role

The Middle Office team is responsible for supporting price controls, NAV calculations, fee models and positioning across our Emerging Markets business as well as setting trading levels and instructing FX hedges in relation to client capital. As a Senior Analyst, the role is to support junior analysts and provide technical expertise to the Middle Office team.

Tasks

  • Independent review and analysis of P&L of physical products and derivatives, including their pricing and P&L calculations (with internal data via Bloomberg) and internal systems.
  • Review and analysis of data operational processes (e.g. NAV calculations, fund budget reviews, reconciliations and risk-based controls).
  • Work closely with various teams to solve problems and develop better reporting and analytics.
  • Management of process improvement initiatives and automation projects.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Representing the team in cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Guidance and mentoring of junior analysts.
  • Sharing knowledge and best practices with team members.
  • Contribution of ideas and initiatives for senior management.
  • Initiative to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Management and development of technology tools to improve processes and reporting.
  • Updating with industry developments and regulatory changes.
  • Contribution to the strategic direction of the team.

Requirements

Essential skills and qualifications

  • Strong analytical mindset with proven ability to solve complex problems independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and lead others.
  • Strong communication skills with confidence to lead and mentor team members.
  • Strong academic background in a quantitative or analytical field (math, finance and accounting, physics/engineering, computer science, etc.) or related field; strong knowledge of financial markets and commitment to career development in the industry.

  • Professional qualifications (CFA, accounting qualifications) or studies.
  • Previous programming knowledge (e.g. Python, VBA) or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with US/UK/IASB or other versioning systems.
