Senior Analyst, Middle Office Accounting

The Senior Analyst in Middle Office Accounting provides support in the valuation of investments, calculation of net asset values and review of portfolios. The role includes developing tools and reports, leading process improvement initiatives and mentoring junior analysts.

Job description

Tasks

  • Independently review valuations of physical products and derivatives, including their pricing and profit/loss calculations with both internal data (Big Data @ Bloomberg) and internal systems
  • Take ownership of data operational processes ensuring accurate NAV calculations, Fund Budget Reviews, reconciliations and risk-based controls
  • Work closely on pricing and tools and databases deliver reporting and analytics
  • Lead process improvement initiatives and automation projects
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners
  • Represent the team on cross-functional projects and initiatives
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts
  • Share knowledge and best practices with team members
  • Contribute ideas and initiatives to senior management
  • Take initiative in identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Lead on system integration to enhance data processes and reporting
  • Stay current with industry developments and regulatory changes
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the team

Requirements

Essential Skills and Qualities

  • Strong analytical mindset with proven ability to solve complex problems independently
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Demonstrable ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to guide and mentor team members
  • Strong academic background in a quantitative or analytical field (Mathematics, Finance and Accounting, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or data science)
  • Proficient in Python, Excel and MS Office

Advantages (But not required)

  • Professional qualifications (CFA, accounting qualifications) or studying towards
  • Prior experience in a similar area (Operations). IT, or Infrastructure experience
  • Familiarity with US/Gaap/IOSCO or other control systems
