Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Analyst in Chicago to support and develop applications designed to combat financial crime. The role involves Level 2/3 support, agile software development, and collaborating with various teams to improve critical transaction applications.
Job Summary
- Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Analyst, Software Engineering to support and enhance a suite of financial crime applications used by our partners and clients.
- This role supports operations in 24/7 environments, focusing on key areas such as investigating potential money laundering and fraud, conducting sanctions screening, and deriving data-driven insights.
- The successful candidate will be able to quickly learn and navigate the complex software suites, making a significant contribution to development and operations, as well as leading SDLC administration.
- This position requires strong analytical skills, a customer-focused mindset, industry-leading expertise, and the ability to troubleshoot complex application issues to identify the root cause and resolve them.
Basic Function
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 application support for mission-critical transaction applications, ensuring the timely investigation and resolution of production issues
- Partner with business users and stakeholders to understand issues, gather requirements, and provide an ongoing positive customer experience with the application
- Develop, test, and deploy application fixes, enhancements, and proactive projects using agile and Scrum-based approaches
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams to facilitate smoother application delivery and support
- Support project requirements related to the onboarding of new services, mission design, testing, and implementation activities
- Monitor your business unit's priorities and other technical aspects of the system
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field; or 2+ years of equivalent experience in developing enterprise applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Oracle databases
- Experience in Azure cloud development
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools
- Expertise in financial services is a plus

Salary Range
- $73,000 - $17,300,000
