Senior Analyst, Middle Office Solutions
The Senior Analyst in the Solutions Middle Office at Man Group is responsible for executing operational processes such as pricing, fund valuation, and portfolio accounting, and supports portfolio managers in preparing reports and analyses. The Senior Analyst works independently and continues to develop their technical and operational skills to support process improvements and projects.
Tasks
The Solutions Middle Office is responsible for pricing systems, fund valuations, fee modeling, and portfolio reconciliations across fixed income, macro, and multi-asset strategies, as well as for supporting FX hedgers in connection with client capital flows. As a Senior Analyst, you will independently execute key operational processes while further developing your technical and operational skills. Your primary responsibilities will include:- Review and analyze fund income statements across various asset classes to prepare reports for portfolio managers and asset managers
- Calculation of the net asset value (NAV) of funds on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
- Reviewing incoming and outgoing checks and forwarding discrepancies to the Investment/Fund Management Department
- Communicating with fund managers to verify fund NAVs
- Management of trade records, exceptions, and support for investment managers, including the identification of concerns and recommendations
- Collaborate with the performance, pricing, control, and investment engineering teams to identify, escalate, and investigate issues
- Preparation of ad hoc reports for asset managers and senior management on performance and historical trading analysis
- Participation in weekly meetings with the investment management and risk team
- Ensuring the quality and effectiveness of pricing regulations and controls
- Focus on identifying, prioritizing, and mitigating price risks, as well as communicating, escalating, and mitigating significant issues to the investment management/risk team
- Applying technical expertise to support pricing across the entire business
- Maintaining systems, processes, and procedures to identify areas for potential improvement
- Support and work on middle-office projects, such as new system enhancements and the implementation of regulatory changes
- Monitoring of Service Providers
Requirements
Ideal candidates should have the following qualifications and experience:- Experience in the financial sector, ideally at an investment bank, fund management firm, or wealth management firm
- A strong understanding of traditional financial instruments and across various asset classes
- Experience with systems, controls, and accounting, ideally with a system such as Advent, and experience implementing process improvements
- Experience with programming tools such as R and/or Python is preferred
