Senior Application Developer / Data Engineer
The Swiss National Bank is seeking a Senior Application Developer / Data Engineer to develop and maintain platforms and tools for collecting, processing, and analyzing data. The position is a fixed-term role through the end of 2028 and offers a diverse range of responsibilities within an agile, multidisciplinary project team.
Your tasks
- Key Contributions: Design and development of a high-performance data infrastructure on the bank’s big data platform, as part of an agile, multidisciplinary project team;
- Implementation of complex data pipelines with high requirements for availability, scalability, and security;
- Further development, maintenance, and support of the applications;
- Supporting users in the line-of-business departments in using our applications and leveraging data in complex business processes;
- Improving and further developing our automation of test, build, and operational processes;
Your profile
- Master's degree in computer science with a focus on software engineering, (big) data engineering, or data science;
- At least three years of relevant work experience in the areas of databases, data architecture, or data management;
- Experience in developing high-quality applications and portals with a focus on software design;
- Experience in automating processes using Python, R, or Spark SQL; very good knowledge of ODBC,
- Excellent programming skills (requirements analysis, solution design, data architecture) combined with a strong focus on implementation and the ability to handle complexity effectively;
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills (requirements analysis, solution design, data architecture) combined with a strong focus on implementation and the ability to handle complexity effectively;
- Strong teamwork and communication skills in challenging, multidisciplinary contexts; a strong willingness to learn and adapt;
- Excellent knowledge of both German and English. Knowledge of French is a plus.
