Senior Associate, Group Tax

Job Profile Summary
The Man Group Tax Department supports the growing U.S. business and serves as a key source of U.S. tax expertise. The role focuses primarily on providing tax compliance and tax accounting services for Man’s U.S. operations and on implementing tax planning initiatives within the U.S. business.Primary Responsibilities
The main tasks include:- Management of external service providers for U.S. tax compliance and reporting
- Preparation and management of all U.S. tax returns, handled internally by the Man Tax Department
- Collaborating with stakeholders from the tax, legal, and other sectors to drive change and contribute to tax returns
- Review of tax laws, tax projects, and tax-related information regarding proposed and actual changes in tax law and tax practice related to Man’s U.S. business
- Forecast of U.S. tax liabilities and tax payment flows for companies within Man's U.S. business
- Assistance with the preparation and coordination of all U.S. tax returns and their submission to the relevant teams
- Provision of ad hoc tax information and technical support for U.S. tax matters
- Managing communication with U.S. tax authorities, drafting responses to correspondence, and collaborating with relevant stakeholders to resolve disputes
Core Competencies
Our core competencies include:- A strong understanding of U.S. tax law and a solid grasp of the broader U.S. tax implications for a large, complex, multinational financial services firm
- A strong understanding of international tax issues (e.g., BEAT, GCR, FDII, PFCs) and U.S. tax issues (e.g., GAIN, BEAT, FTCs, PRCs)
- Experience with developments in U.S. tax law and their practical implications
- Experience in preparing U.S. corporate tax returns (e.g., Form 1120, Form 1065) and related forms/attachments, as well as their state equivalents
- A strong understanding of ASC 740 and income tax accounting
- Experience with tax process improvement and project management
- Familiarity with the latest technology and financial data systems
- Experience with U.S. tax software and technology
