Senior Associate, Group Tax

Man Group is seeking a Senior Associate for its Group Tax department in Fort Worth, Texas, to support the U.S. tax department and serve as an expert in U.S. tax law. The successful candidate will work directly with the company and external service providers to ensure tax compliance and reporting.

Job Profile Summary

The Man Group Tax Department supports the growing U.S. business and serves as a key source of U.S. tax knowledge and technical expertise. The department focuses primarily on supporting tax compliance and meeting tax requirements for Man’s U.S. business, and develops and maintains the processes necessary to do so.

Primary Responsibilities

The main tasks include:
  • Management of external service providers responsible for Man's U.S. tax compliance and reporting.
  • Ownership of U.S. tax reporting, which is handled internally by the Man Tax Department.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, document, and maintain processes for generating the information required for tax reporting.
  • Manage strategic tax projects and keep senior stakeholders informed about proposed and actual changes in tax law and tax practice that are relevant to Man’s U.S. operations.
  • Recording U.S. tax liabilities and ensuring that tax expenses are fully allocated to Man’s U.S. operations.
  • Assistance with the preparation of current and deferred tax provisions under ASC 740 and ASC 12.
  • Providing critical support and technical expertise to internal and external stakeholders on all matters related to U.S. tax.
  • Managing communications with U.S. tax authorities and drafting responses to correspondence.

Core Competencies

The required skills and knowledge include:
  • A strong understanding of U.S. federal tax law and a deep appreciation for the broader federal, state, and local tax implications for a large, complex foreign financial services firm.
  • Experience working within a financial institution and an understanding of how tax systems interact with their non-U.S. counterparts.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects and the ability to independently research complex tax issues and communicate them effectively.
  • Strong understanding of ASC 740 and FIN 48.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

We offer

The company offers a salary ranging from $95,000 to $140,000 (USD), as well as benefits and allowances commensurate with this position.
