Senior Associate or Vice President, Real Estate and ABS Solutions

Nomura is seeking a Senior Associate or Vice President for Real Estate and ABS Solutions in London who has at least 4–5 years of experience in structured finance and real estate-backed assets. The role involves underwriting, structuring, and executing financings, as well as coordinating due diligence processes within the Global Markets Division.

Key Role Activities

  • Underwrite, structure, and execute structured financings for specialty finance portfolios
  • Repackaging asset classes and markets relevant to potential or existing corporate and risk management
  • Coordinate transaction due diligence and execution work streams with third parties and sell-side parties during transaction origination, development, and marketing
  • Work in partnership with our client coverage teams to identify and evaluate opportunities involving clients and co-investors, and contribute to the generation of transaction ideas
  • Model risk and other control functions throughout the transaction lifecycle across offices and global clearing, prime brokerage, and custody businesses
  • The financing solutions offered by the desk span the entire capital structure, with the ability to structure both senior and/or junior/subordinated debt, where applicable. The desk underwrites risk for the bank's balance sheet and global finan-

Role Requirements

  • At least 4–5 years or the equivalent of experience in structured finance underwriting
  • A strong understanding of real estate and mortgage-backed loans is essential; experience with real estate portfolios and a proven track record are also essential
  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience with real estate-backed assets and strong quantitative and technical skills, including financial modeling and pricing.
  • Proven project management, analytical, and credit skills
