Senior Audior
Senior Auditor in Luxembourg with at least 5 years of experience in internal auditing for private banking and wealth management, including a willingness to travel 20% within Europe.
Tasks
- Manage individual audit engagements from start to finish (planning, fieldwork, reporting) to deliver high-quality findings and recommendations in accordance with the ASD methodology and internal audit standards.
- Develop risk-based audit plans for assigned entities and corporate functions by analyzing group policies and procedures and defining the scope, objectives, and testing methods.
- Assessment of the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls in departments/divisions of the private bank, including the definition of scope, objectives, and testing methodology.
- Identifying control weaknesses and instances of noncompliance; proposing clear, actionable corrective measures; monitoring progress; and escalating delays as needed.
- Applying sound audit techniques, conducting tests and analyses, and preparing clear, well-structured audit findings and formal audit reports for ASC members.
- Discuss the audit findings with management to define and agree on corrective action plans.
- Tracking the implementation status of significant audit recommendations.
- Coordination and interaction with members of the global ASD audit team, sharing of knowledge, and support for group-wide initiatives.
- Participation in ad hoc investigations or special audits requested by the Audit Committee and management.
- Conduct audit engagements outside of Luxembourg (typically 2-week engagements requiring up to approximately 20% travel—primarily within Europe) to ensure cross-border audit coverage (up to 8 desks, 180 seats).
Requirements
- At least 5 years of audit experience in a Big Four environment or in the internal audit function of large European private banks.
- Extensive experience in internal auditing of private banking, wealth management, asset management, and the fund business.
- In-depth knowledge of the CSSF regulations governing private banking.
- A thorough understanding of professional auditing standards, group auditing policies, and procedures.
- Excellent English and/or written communication skills; knowledge of French is a plus.
- Knowledge of one or two other major European languages is an asset.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel for business up to approximately 20% of working hours, primarily within Europe.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex information and identify control weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt one's style to senior management and global colleagues.
- A team-oriented mindset, a positive attitude, and strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with senior management and ASD team members worldwide.
