Senior Azure FinOps Engineer, Full-Time (f/m/d)

Tasks

• Establish, own, and continuously improve FinOps practices, processes, and governance across the Azure platform
• Analyze Azure consumption and spending patterns, identify opportunities for optimization, and drive initiatives to reduce cloud costs through usage and rate optimization
• Guide cloud engineers and architects in designing, implementing, and operating cloud solutions
• Define and support the implementation of cost allocation, showback, and chargeback mechanisms across business units and customers
• Support stakeholders and customers with cost estimates, budgeting, forecasting, and impact assessments for new projects and cloud initiatives
• Develop dashboards, reports, alerts, and cost insights for engineering teams, management, procurement, and customers to improve cost transparency and budget control
• Periodically review and consolidate Azure Advisor recommendations, reservations, savings plans, pricing options, and licensing options, and work closely with Microsoft specialists and account managers
• Proactively promote cost awareness and accountability by scrutinizing resource configurations and helping customers optimize their cloud usage

Requirements

• Several years of hands-on experience in Azure engineering, Azure platform operations, cloud architecture, cloud financial management, or FinOps
• Proven experience managing and optimizing Azure usage, costs, budgets, reservations, savings plans, and licensing models
• A strong understanding of Azure services, subscriptions, management groups, resource tagging strategies, and cost-effective architectures
• Experience in establishing cost transparency through reporting, budgeting, forecasting, showback, anomaly detection, and cost governance processes using tools such as Power BI or Azure Cost Management
• Ability to translate technical cloud consumption data into actionable recommendations that are relevant to the business for management and stakeholders
• Experience in enterprise-scale environments; experience in banking, financial services, or regulated industries is a plus
