Senior Azure FinOps Engineer, Full-Time (f/m/d)

Tasks

• Assessing, evaluating, and continuously improving FinOps practices, processes, and governance across the Azure platform
• Analyzing cloud usage and spending patterns, identifying opportunities for optimization, and promoting cost-reduction initiatives through intelligent recommendations
• Cross-functional collaboration with finance, business, and technology teams to enable cost-conscious decision-making and actionable insights
• Development and maintenance of cost models, forecasts, and budgets using FinOps frameworks (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Providing data-driven insights through regular forecasts, business analyses, and financial reports
• Defining and maintaining cost optimization and cost management strategies, incorporating internal and external audit best practices
• Development and implementation of cost allocation and chargeback methods across teams
• Providing user insights and actionable advice as an experienced Microsoft support specialist with a strong focus on data and business acumen
• Taking active, self-directed action to proactively implement solutions
• Proactive promotion of cost awareness and accountability by providing business-relevant, data-driven initiatives and metrics, as well as through coaching

Requirements

• Proven experience (5+ years) as a FinOps engineer, cloud finance specialist, cost engineer, executive, or cloud optimizer, specializing in cloud cost optimization and FinOps
• 2+ years of experience with cloud provisioning solutions
• Proven experience in implementing or optimizing cloud procurement, cost, workflow, provisioning, scope, and budget solutions
• Demonstrated understanding of Azure services, cost forecasting, reporting, and governance for FinOps teams
• Strong knowledge of FinOps best practices across multiple environments
• In-depth knowledge of automation (for tracking, monitoring, reporting, forecasting, measurement, and generating recommendations) (e.g., Power BI, Python)
• Ability to translate technical cloud usage data into business recommendations and business-relevant insights for management and stakeholders
• Experience with business models; experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) is a plus
