Senior Backend Java Engineer - Aladdin Engineering, Vice President

Tasks

• Lead execution of projects
• Design, build, and maintain highly available, concurrent and performant software systems
• Collaborate with teams to develop Aladdin's global multi-asset class platform
• Architect, develop and maintain trading systems, market and reference data systems, and other software systems
• Responsible for the technical design and development of new trading platforms
• Participate in Agile SCRUM methodologies to build the platform
• Lead performance testing and troubleshoot production issues
• Define, implement and enforce secure coding practices through all phases of software development
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product integration

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience
• BS/BA/BS in Computer Science or related field
• Proven Java expertise
• Track record of building highly available, concurrent and performant software systems
• Strong proficiency in one or more of the following technologies: Java/ Spring Framework/Spring Boot/ Hibernate
• Experience with databases
• Experience with web technologies
• Experience with architecture and design patterns
• Experience with coding standards
• External experience building mission-critical software architectures
• Understanding of distributed systems and microservices
• Understanding of containerization and cloud technologies
• Ability to collaborate and execute in a multi-disciplinary team environment
• Strong analytical capabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
