Senior Backup Engineer

Your role

As a Senior Backup Engineer at the bank, you will be responsible for administering and monitoring our enterprise backup environment and providing a reliable, high-quality service for the bank's critical systems.

Your tasks

• Support for backup and restore operations
• Collaboration on the design and implementation of disaster recovery tests
• Implementation of Monitoring and Automation for Backup and Restore Operations
• Collaborate on the design and further development of the backup infrastructure to support the architectural evolution of legacy systems and migrations
• Supporting the team with infrastructure-related tasks, including on-call duty

Your profile

• Higher Education in Computer Science (University/University of Applied Sciences)
• At least 3–5 years of practical experience in backup management, backup engineering, and enterprise backup solutions
• Solid foundational knowledge of SAN storage, Linux, and Windows, with specific expertise in data recovery exercises and disaster recovery plans
• Familiarity with Linux (Red Hat) and UNIX-based operating systems, along with a strong interest in automation, are highly valuable
• ITIL and TOGAF certifications are a plus
• A hands-on professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who is able to effectively evaluate issues, set priorities, and take full responsibility for tasks
• A team player who is known for a strong work ethic, integrity, and a high sense of responsibility
• Fluent in English; knowledge of German and/or French is a plus
