Senior Backup Engineer

Your Role

• As a Senior Backup Engineer at Bank J. Safra Sarasin, you are responsible for managing and monitoring our enterprise backup environment and providing a reliable, high-quality service to the Bank's critical systems.

Your Responsibilities

• Support for backup and restore operations
• Collaborate on the design and implementation of disaster recovery tests
• Implement monitoring and automation for backup and restore operations
• Collaborate on the design and development of the backup infrastructure, supporting the architectural evolution of legacy systems and migration projects
• Assist the team with infrastructure-related tasks, including on-call duty

Profiles

• Higher Education in Computer Science (University/University of Applied Sciences)
• At least 3–5 years of practical experience in the field of backup management, engineering, and enterprise backup solutions
• Solid foundational knowledge of SAN storage, Linux, and Windows, with specific expertise in data recovery procedures and disaster recovery plans
• Familiarity with Linux (Red Hat) and UNIX-based operating systems, as well as a strong interest in automation, are highly valued
• ITIL and TOGAF certifications are considered an asset
• A hands-on professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of effectively evaluating issues, setting priorities, and taking full ownership of tasks
• A team player known for strong work ethic, integrity, and a high sense of accountability
• Fluent in English; proficiency in German and/or French is a plus
