Senior Buyer, Asia
The Senior Buyer Asia at Julius Baer in Singapore is responsible for managing procurement activities in the Asia-Pacific region and supports the implementation of procurement strategies and the negotiation of supply contracts. The role requires at least 3–5 years of relevant experience in procurement and strong negotiation skills.
Tasks
The Senior Buyer for Asia will be responsible for managing procurement activities throughout the APAC region. The role includes:- Assist the Regional Procurement Head in implementing procurement strategies in the APAC region.
- Management of local purchasing activities, including procurement, contract negotiation, and order processing.
- Providing procurement support to internal stakeholders.
- Negotiating supply contracts and prices to ensure cost optimization.
- Ensuring that all procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and global standards.
- Support for the implementation of source-to-pay processes.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with local and regional suppliers to ensure effective supplier management.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders to handle procurement-related inquiries.
- Monitoring market trends and identifying opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency.
Regulatory responsibilities and risk management
The Senior Buyer for Asia must:- Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviors, including, but not limited to, standards of honesty and integrity, diligence and prudence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), conflict management, competence and continuous development, appropriate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Your profile
We are looking for a candidate with:- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in business administration, supply chain management, procurement, or a related field.
- Recognized professional certification (CIPS, CPA, CIMA, or additional training/experience).
- At least 3–5 years of relevant procurement experience, ideally in a multinational setting.
- Experience in developing and implementing procurement procedures.
- Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently and focus on results.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A team player who is open, hands-on, a critical thinker, and has excellent problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of data protection, technology procurement, and financial market regulations.
