Senior Buyer, Asia

The Senior Buyer for Asia is responsible for managing procurement activities in the Asia-Pacific region and supports the implementation of procurement strategies and the negotiation of supply contracts. The position requires at least 3–5 years of experience in procurement and strong communication and negotiation skills.

Job description

The Senior Buyer Asia, based in Singapore, will be responsible for managing procurement activities in the APAC region. This is a single-person position that reports directly to the Regional Procurement Manager, Asia. The role focuses on implementing procurement strategies, supporting purchasing needs, and ensuring compliance with global procurement standards to achieve the organization’s goals.

Tasks

  • Support the Regional Procurement Manager in implementing procurement strategies in the APAC region.
  • Management of local purchasing activities, including procurement, contract execution, and order processing.
  • Providing procurement support to internal stakeholders.
  • Negotiating supply contracts and prices to ensure cost optimization.
  • Ensuring that all procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and global standards.
  • Support for the implementation of source-to-pay processes.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with local and regional suppliers to ensure effective supplier management.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders to handle procurement-related inquiries.
  • Monitoring market trends and identifying opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency.

Requirements

  • A degree in business administration, supply chain management, procurement, or a similar relevant field.
  • Recognized professional certification (CIPS, CPA, CIMA, or additional training/experience).
  • At least 3–5 years of relevant procurement experience, ideally in a multinational setting.
  • Experience in developing and implementing procurement procedures.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently and focus on results.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A team player who is open, hands-on, a critical thinker, and has excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills; knowledge of other local languages is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and relevant S2P tools.

Preferences

  • Procurement experience in the financial industry.
  • Experience with SAP or other source-to-pay modules.
  • Expertise in data protection, technology procurement, and financial market regulations.
